about me

Hello!

I’m Defne Auf, a Turkish editor, producer, and designer working across documentary and narrative film.

I graduated second in my class from Bilkent University’s Department of Communication and Design, where I also minored in Graphic Design. Later, as a Chevening Scholar, I completed my MA in Filmmaking at the London Film Academy, where I was honored with the Emerging Filmmaker of the Year Award in 2023.

Since 2019, I’ve worked on a variety of projects ranging from short films and documentaries to corporate and branded videos, both in Turkey and the UK. My recent work includes editing the feature documentary Dokunduğum Yürekler (2024), which is currently streaming on multiple platforms.

Beyond editing, I’ve been actively involved in short film festivals and competitions, serving as a jury member, curator, and mentor for emerging filmmakers. I also directed PASO Fest XXV, Bilkent University’s student film festival.

Currently, I’m based between Ankara and London, developing new narrative and documentary projects while working at Fenomen Prodüksiyon.

I’m also the co-creator of Analog Break, a YouTube channel and creative studio offering mindful, analog-inspired breaks for digital-age creatives.

I’ve always loved traveling. It’s where I find my rhythm and my stories.

This year, I’m finally answering that calling: to share my journeys, encounters, and observations through film and storytelling.

I can’t be more excited!
